1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, which cookies we use on the website ecofoodcycle.eu (the “Website”), for what purposes, and how you can manage your settings and consent.

The Website is operated by the Public Institution Development Agency of Lika-Senj County – LIRA, as part of the implementation of the ECOFOODCYCLE project, co-financed under the Interreg VI-A Italy – Croatia programme (“we”, “us”, “our Website”). We use the Complianz | GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent plugin to manage cookie consent.

2. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, mobile phone, or other device when you visit a website. They are used to make the website work properly, to remember your settings and consent, and to help us understand how visitors use the Website. In addition to cookies, similar or related data may also be collected by web beacons, pixel tags, and browser local storage — in this Policy, all of these mechanisms are collectively referred to as “cookies”.

3.1 Necessary / functional cookies

These cookies are essential for the Website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set only in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging into your Food Exchange account, or filling in forms. Your consent is not required for these cookies.

3.2 Statistics (analytics) cookies

These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so that we can measure and improve the performance of our Website. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the Website. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymous. They are set only with your consent.

Note on Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the Website is used (number of visits, most visited pages, traffic sources, time spent on the site, etc.). Google Analytics also collects your IP address, which is processed by Google LLC, headquartered in the United States. Data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area; such transfers are based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and/or Google’s participation in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, depending on the transfer mechanism currently applied by Google. 3.3 Google Search Console – note

The Website is also registered with Google Search Console, a tool that allows Google to index the Website and provides us with statistics on how the Website appears in Google Search (number of impressions, clicks, average position, etc.). Google Search Console does not set cookies in your browser and does not collect personal data about individual visitors to the Website — it only provides aggregated data on the Website’s search performance, which Google internally associates with search queries rather than with the identity of an individual visitor of our Website. For this reason, Google Search Console is not included in the cookie tables above, but is mentioned here for transparency.

3.4 Third-party / marketing cookies

We currently do not use advertising cookies or social media tracking cookies for marketing purposes on the Website. Should this change in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated, and your appropriate consent will be requested beforehand through our consent management tool.

4. How to manage your cookie consent

When you first visit the Website, a consent banner is displayed, allowing you to:
